Women's imaging vendor Fischer Imaging of Denver said it has reached an agreement with Thermo Electron of Waltham, MA, to accelerate remaining payments owed the firm from a 2002 patent settlement into a single payment of $4.25 million.
The company reported that in addition to regular quarterly payment of $900,000 from the settlement, Fischer has received $5.15 million during the current quarter. The balance on the settlement has now been paid in full, Fischer said.
In other news, the company said it has regained its CE Mark for distribution in the European Union of its MammoTest systems and has resumed shipments to Europe. The company markets MammoTest in Europe through its OEM partner, Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon Endo-Surgery unit of Cincinnati.
