Barco mammo display gets FDA OK

Monitor provider Barco has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) marketing clearance for its cathode ray tube-based MGD 521M dedicated mammography display.

The 5-megapixel MGD 521M medical grayscale display has been available for several years, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based firm. The FDA approval allows Barco to market the product as a dedicated mammography display, the company said.
