Agfa lands Dutch digital mammo contract

Agfa HealthCare has been commissioned by the Dutch breast cancer screening organization BBNN to install a mobile mammography van with its Embrace DR mammography product, according to the Mortsel, Belgium-based vendor.

The Dutch BBNN has eight mobile breast cancer screening vans that visit 229 screening points in the northern part of the Netherlands, Agfa said. The examination images will be delivered in DICOM format to a central PACS database for diagnosis in one of three regional reporting units in the northern part of the Netherlands, the firm said.
