Bone densitometry and medical informatics firm CompuMed of Los Angeles has filed a provisional U.S. patent application for the integration and use of its OsteoGram osteoporosis software on digital mammography equipment.
This latest application of OsteoGram will use images taken by digital mammography equipment to perform osteoporosis testing at the same time that women undergo routine mammograms, the company said.
The technology will be on display next week at the RSNA conference in Chicago, according to CompuMed.
