Sectra introduces osteoporosis testing with mammography

Sectra of Linköping, Sweden, has introduced a combination product comprising the firm's low-dose mammography system and its osteoporosis testing technology.

The digital Sectra MicroDose Mammography system has been integrated with the Sectra Digital X-ray Radiogrammetry (DXR) technology. Combining the products allows osteoporosis testing by acquiring a hand x-ray in connection with a mammography exam, according to the firm.

The osteoporosis technology has FDA clearance, but the mammography system has not yet been cleared.
