Sullivan steps down as Hologic chairman

Women's imaging vendor Hologic of Bedford, MA, announced that Patrick Sullivan has resigned from his position as a director and chairman of the board, effective May 20.

Hologic's board appointed Jack Cumming as chairman, and he will continue as CEO. Neither Hologic nor Sullivan gave a reason for the resignation.

Prior to becoming chairman in October 2007, Sullivan served as chairman, president, and CEO of Cytyc, which Hologic acquired last year.
