Disposable products developer Merit Medical Systems posted increases in revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter and 2019, with notable growth in sales of its catheters and standalone devices.
For the quarter (end-December 31, 2019), Merit's revenue increased to $257.9 million, up 10.6% from $233.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2018. For the year, revenue reached $994.9 million, up 12.7% from $882.8 million in 2018.
However, the company reported a net loss of $4.2 million in the fourth quarter, compared with a net profit of $9.2 million in the same quarter the previous year. Net income also was down to $5.5 million in 2019, compared with $42 million in 2018.
