R2 Technology of Sunnyvale, CA, will introduce a new addition to its ImageChecker CAD family, as well as new software for ImageChecker DM, which can be used with either film-based analog mammography units or full-field digital systems. The company will also show its progress on ImageChecker CT for the detection of solid lung nodules during review of multidetector CT (MDCT) chest exams.
R2 will launch a new CAD mammography system, ImageChecker DMax, which boasts a digital scanner, ergonomic design, and the smallest footprint R2 has yet offered in a CAD system. DMax can process up to 20 cases at a time, according to the company.
R2 will also showcase DigitalNow, an archiving software package the company introduced in September. Developed for use with ImageChecker DM, DigitalNow helps clinics transition from film-based to digital mammography. The software features universal compatibility with all DICOM workstations and electronic patient data system integration. It identifies and orients mammography images in the four standard screening views, and archives digitized images to a PACS or mini-PACS system for future use, reducing onsite film storage dependence and file room workload.
Also on display will be ImageChecker CT for the detection of solid lung nodules during review of multidetector CT (MDCT) chest exams. ImageChecker CT examines CT studies in 3D, helping radiologists detect solid lung nodules. The FDA cleared the software in June of this year.
R2 offers two ImageChecker CT packages: A temporal comparison software module, for automatic 3D registration and automatic tracking of lung-nodule progression or regression, and the filling defect indicator software module, which allows physicians to visualize and evaluate filling defects in pulmonary arteries, such as pulmonary emboli.
