Artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Avenda Health said that its Unfold AI prostate cancer management platform has been used for the first time in a commercial setting.
Dr. Wayne Brisbane and several other physicians at UCLA Health have used the software to help manage prostate cancer patients, according to the vendor. With the assistance of deep-learning algorithms, Unfold AI combines patient-specific data from prostate imaging, biopsies, and pathology to create a 3D cancer estimation map. As a result, physicians can visualize the extent of a patient's prostate cancer and provide more personalized treatments, Avenda said.
