Merge settles lawsuit

Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare has forged an agreement with the plaintiff and other defendants in a derivative action complaint against the Milwaukee-based firm.

The agreement provides for the settlement, release, and dismissal of all claims put forward by the plaintiff, but the company has not released any claims against its former officers. In exchange, Merge Healthcare will make a one-time cash payment of $250,000 to the plaintiff for legal costs.

Merge also announced that it has received $1 million in cash from its liability insurance carrier for reimbursement of legal expenses in connection with the suit.
