Vital Images names strategy chief

Advanced visualization firm Vital Images of Minnetonka, MN, has appointed Ray Ghanbari as executive vice president of strategy and products, a new position.

Ghanbari will be responsible for product strategy and marketing, corporate development, and strategic business planning. He will report to Vital Images president and CEO Michael Carrel.

Ghanbari has held executive and senior-level positions at Ingenix, Yahoo!, MedData Healthcare Systems, Agouron Pharmaceuticals, and the Mayo Clinic. Most recently, he was chief technology officer at Ingenix, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group that provides commercial software and information services to the healthcare industry
