Computer-aided detection firm iCAD has signed a series of agreements with fellow CAD developer Scanis of Foster City, CA. iCAD has secured a patent license to certain Scanis patents in the U.S., Canada, and Japan for breast cancer CAD technology.
A similar European patent application covering similar inventions was also covered, according to the Nashua, NH-based vendor. In conjunction with the patent license arrangement, Scanis has signed a multiyear, exclusive digitizer supply agreement with iCAD's Howtek Devices subsidiary. Scanis will, with specified exceptions, purchase only Howtek digitizers for use in Scanis CAD systems.
