Healthcare information systems firm McKesson Canada of Montreal has won a contract with the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services to provide medical imaging technology to Quebec's two largest hospital networks, the company said.
Under the $54 million ($64 million Canadian), eight-year agreement, McKesson Canada will provide its Horizon Medical Imaging PACS to the 43 hospital facilities within the regions of the Réseau Universitaire Intégré de Santé McGill University (RUIS McGill) and Réseau Universitaire Intégré de Santé de l’Université de Montréal (RUIS Montréal), which serve 60% of Quebec's population.
McKesson Canada also will develop a large-scale diagnostic imaging repository for centralized image archiving services, connecting the 43 RUIS McGill and RUIS Montréal facilities with 52 other Quebec hospitals within the assigned territory.
