Covera Health expanding COE program to prostate imaging

Covera Health is expanding its national Radiology Centers of Excellence (COE) platform with the addition of prostate imaging.

The company plans to launch this expansion in the first quarter of 2026 and hinted at further expansion toward breast, abdominal, and chest imaging.

Covera developed its COE platform in 2019 to ensure health plan and employer members are guided to imaging centers for routine imaging such as MRI, CT, and PET, and matched with subspecialized radiologists to interpret their exams.

Covera said its prostate imaging COE will be automatically activated in early 2026 for employer and health plan partners already using the platform. When a prostate MRI is ordered, patients will be directed to a facility that meets quality standards for both image acquisition and interpretation. No additional contracting or integration is required, which allows employers to immediately extend imaging protections to a critical clinical area, the company added.

The program will plug directly into care navigation and prior authorization workflows, needing no change to existing patient or provider processes. Covera Health is now accepting applications from imaging providers interested in becoming designated Prostate Imaging Centers of Excellence.
