NovaPACS launches new archive product

PACS software developer NovaPACS has launched NovaPACS Enterprise Archive, a new storage product designed for imaging facilities with multiple locations. The software automatically synchronizes real-time storage of an onsite archive with offsite central Web archives, enabling secure image retrieval from Web-enabled computers in any location, according to the American Fork, UT, firm.

Facilities can host their own NovaPACS Enterprise Archive, or NovaPACS can host the archive for them. The company claims that the average image retrieval time across a local-area network is 30 seconds. The system features wavelet compression, RAID 5 storage, and support for Windows Server 2000.
