Imaging software developer DesAcc has released Digital Jacket Pro, the latest version of its image management and telemedicine application. Designed to address the patient confidentiality and security provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Digital Jacket Pro provides full-access auditing and encrypted client/server and peer-to-peer communication, according to the Chicago-based firm.
DesAcc has also incorporated patient de-identification tools for creating limited datasets, as well as per-patient or group-level authenticated local or remote access. A security checklist feature assess the level of compliance for stored confidential patient information, according to the firm.
