Agfa will be highlighting Impax 5.0, which adds integrated RIS and speech recognition capability to its Impax PACS technology.
An integrated PACS, RIS, and speech-recognition offering, Impax 5.0 enables customers to install any of the three as a stand-alone application or as an integrated package, according to the Ridgefield Park, NJ-based vendor. The enterprise digital imaging system also incorporates extended support of storage appliance manufacturers and added archive capacity, Agfa said.
Other new features on Impax 5.0 include improved security, privacy, and auditing features, as well as migration of existing Solaris functionality to the Windows environment, Agfa said. The graphical user interface (GUI) has also been updated to support functional changes taking place within the Impax client.
Agfa will emphasize its enterprise functionality, demonstrating the capabilities of enterprise-wide digital image and information management across radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, women’s care, and other clinical departments.
The vendor will also debut DryStar 5300, a dry imager designed for tabletop use. DryStar 5300 is optimized for decentralized imaging, and offers 320 dpi resolution and DICOM 3.0 print management service (PMS), according to Agfa. It also includes built-in service diagnostics and supports either 11 x 14-inch or 14 x 17-inch media sizes.
DryStar 5300 also utilizes a new dry media, DryStar DT2. Available in both blue and clear base, DryStar DT2 is daylight-compatible and includes anti-curl layers, Agfa said. It is also capable of handling virtually any print requirements.
Also at the show, Agfa will be adding initia RIS and initia archive to its product portfolio targeted at imaging centers. Both products will be shown as works-in-progress.
Agfa will also showcase Impax Total Solution, a PACS offering designed to allow community-based hospitals and imaging centers to convert to a filmless environment for less than $5 to $6 per procedure, according to the vendor.
