Brit will debut Roentgen RIS, a new Web viewer, as well as DICOM/Web viewer for tablet computers.

Roentgen RIS uses the same database as Brit’s Roentgen Files PACS network. Brit will also unveil a Web viewer for Citrix servers, which allows institutions to run Web viewers on thin clients for review of medical images and reports. Designed for sites with existing Citrix servers and large institutions seeking a means to support hundreds to thousands of viewers, this offering is available now, Brit said.

In other product developments, Brit has enhanced its QC Workbench software. The DICOM QC workstation supports rearranging of images within and between exams, according to Brit. It can also break exam/series into multiple exams/series and combine multiple exams/series into a single exam/series. In addition, images can be moved from exam to exam, exam/series information can be modified, and images can be accepted, rejected, reoriented, and windowed and leveled, Brit said. Patient demographics can also be modified.

Brit will also spotlight a DICOM/Web viewer for tablet computers. The software supports viewing of medical images on a tablet PC, and can send annotations/notes via IHE key object notes and presentation states, Brit said.

Aimed at wireless environments requiring a means of viewing medical images, the viewer utilizes Wi-Fi 802.11g, and can perform dynamic window and leveling with the pen, according to the vendor. The viewer is scheduled to be available in April 2004.
