MedPACS Displays

MedPACS will introduce Vista, a PACS and teleradiology system.

Vista can make images available over an intranet (LAN or WAN), or via the Internet, allowing for complete user mobility in a secure and scalable system, according to the Hartland, WI-based vendor. Images sent over the Internet are compressed and encrypted for security.

Vista works with standard PCs and displays, and supports query/retrieve functions for searching by criteria such as: read/unread studies; patient name, record, ID, and accession number; data and date range; studies sent today; and modality. Updates to the MedPACS viewer are available over the Internet, according to the firm.

MedPACS said that Vista is also compatible with the vendor’s archive system to ensure long-term storage/disaster-recovery capabilities. Vista will be available in the first quarter of 2004.
