Misys Healthcare Systems

Healthcare informatics developer Misys Healthcare Systems will be unveiling its Misys Image Management (Misys IM) PACS product, which delivers, manages, and stores medical images, reports, and associated data throughout the healthcare enterprise.

The Web-based application is designed to combine image, voice, and radiology information to create a fully integrated desktop workflow environment. Its hierarchical architecture is scalable over any TCP/IP network using high-speed LANs, WANs, or low-bandwidth modems, the Internet, or VPN. The application provides centralized and distributed data management across multiple servers, according to the Tucson-based firm.

Misys IM features single and multifacility Telepacs hardware and software for near-term image study storage and image and information sharing. The application has customer-configurable server architecture for larger facilities and multifacility enterprises, as well as archive storage options that include hierarchical tape library configurations, and scalable network-attached storage (NAS) and storage-area network (SAN) configurations. In addition, image auto-routing to other DICOM applications and pull and pre-fetch technologies are included.

The product, targeted for acute-care radiology departments, imaging centers, and independent delivery networks (IDNs), is available worldwide this month, Misys said.
