RadVault adds Web viewer, workstation upgrades.
The Hayward, CA-based PACS firm will unveil Clinical Web Viewer, a Web-based, ActiveX DICOM viewer that enables radiologists and clinicians to access images remotely. Clinical Web viewer works in conjunction with the vendor’s ASP PACS network, and will be released in January 2004.
RadVault has also completely rebuilt its diagnostic workstation software in release 6.0, using Microsoft’s .Net architecture. Also designed to work with RadVault’s ASP PACS, release 6.0 will be available in January 2004 as part of a site license or ASP subscription.
SmartTransfer is an Internet-based alternative to traditional teleradiology systems. It obviates the need for direct lines or a virtual private network, RadVault said. Targeted at radiology facilities with radiologists reading remotely, the HIPAA-compliant package is available now, according to the vendor.
Another introduction, SmartStor DICOM, is an Internet-based off-site backup service for DICOM files. RadVault believes that imaging centers and radiology facilities looking for HIPAA-compliant, off-site image storage would be interested in SmartStor DICOM, which is available immediately.
