Scalable, versatile archives head up storage introductions

RSNA attendees weighing storage decisions will have plenty to see on the show floor this year at McCormick Place. From entry-level archives up to large-scale configurations, vendors will showcase a variety of packages designed to meet customers' needs and applications.

Storage vendors continue to roll out scalable archive technology that allows users to start small and add to their archives as needs grow. In addition, some companies are pointing to their ability to handle both radiology and cardiology images, as well as other DICOM objects, on their archive offerings.

Firms are also working to make storage easier to manage, incorporating additional reliability and monitoring functionality. Disaster recovery and backup capabilities continue to be paramount, and vendors will be discussing those features on the show floor.
