(Booth 600) RamSoft of Toronto will bring version 4.6 of its PowerServer RIS/PACS software, which includes a number of new features for loading and viewing studies, to the RSNA show floor.
New functionality includes the ability to load images on-demand, according to RamSoft. Employing better management and predictive-loading algorithms, PowerServer "intelligently" preloads studies for the user, allowing for faster read times and increased study volumes, RamSoft said.
The vendor said it also has optimized the performance of PowerServer, regardless of operating system platform, system hardware, or network bandwidth.
In addition, PowerServer's PowerReader workstation software can now support breast MRI, mammography, and ultrasound reading from a single client and interface. Its computer-aided detection (CAD) image overlay functionality can work with any CAD package that conforms to DICOM CAD specifications, according to RamSoft.
Other new features include PowerCache and Smart Routing Technology (SRT). PowerCache caches image data on the local network and close to the client workstation; when data are requested, cached images are retrieved immediately without having to be pulled from the remote PACS servers, RamSoft said.
SRT is a package of HIPAA-compliant tools and functions designed to provide secure, safe, and configurable study routing. It can perform routing by DICOM tag or custom-designed scriptable routing rules, RamSoft said. Images such as priors can also be prefetched and prerouted along with new incoming studies.
