(Booth 4039) Fujifilm Medical Systems USA of Stamford, CT, will showcase new additions to its Synapse PACS software, including integrated 3D capabilities, at RSNA 2008.

In addition to integrated 3D, Fuji has incorporated new communication and collaboration tools for radiologists and referring physicians, according to the vendor. Fuji also will discuss its managed services offering, which provides radiology groups with a common platform for interpreting images. The company provides customers with infrastructure, integration, and IT support.

In other developments, Fuji said it will discuss the hosting of Synapse in a virtualized environment, which the company believes provides a lower total cost of ownership and an eco-friendly system footprint. Fuji and partner Empiric Systems of Morrisville, NC, also will demonstrate an integrated RIS/PACS, featuring Fuji's Synapse PACS and Empiric's Encompass.NET RIS.
