(Booth 8537) Emageon will introduce Outside Study Gateway in its booth at McCormick Place this year.
Outside Study Gateway (OSG) is designed to assist institutions in receiving diagnostic imaging studies, associated medical information, and full patient demographics from outside their usual PACS networks, according to the Birmingham, AL-based vendor. With OSG, outside facilities can perform direct DICOM transmission of their PACS images to the receiving hospital's OSG server.
Patient and exam integrity checks are automatically performed, as well as autoforwarding into the receiving hospital's enterprise PACS, according to Emageon. Studies are transmitted securely across a VPN and automatically segregated, the company said.
Authorized physicians can then view the studies immediately using their existing PACS workstations. OSG also has the ability to provide new studies securely and electronically to the referring facility, Emageon said.
