(Booth 4229) Sony will introduce its FilmStation mammography imager as a work-in-progress in Chicago.
Model UP-DF750 is a high-resolution thermal printing system optimized for full-field digital mammography (FFDM) applications, according to the Park Ridge, NJ-based firm. Using blue thermal high-density film, UP-DF750 yields images in 606 dpi at a print time of 90 sheets per hour, Sony said.
The imager has a compact footprint and can also handle a full range of general radiology printing needs, Sony said. It can be positioned horizontally or vertically; the system could stand upright alongside a PC under a desktop, for example. Other features include a one-minute warm-up time, front-mounted controls, a built-in DICOM interface, automatic calibration, and support for film in multiple sizes.
UP-DF750 is awaiting U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) approval.
