(Booth 206) Ashva will release version 2.0 of its PhoeniX DICOM converter at the 2008 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
PhoeniX 2.0 can now interface with film digitizers from Vidar Systems of Herndon, VA, to scan, segment, and send film to any PACS, according to Ashva of Plymouth, MN. The software also can perform a modality worklist query or a PACS server query to select patient information before film scanning, Ashva said.
In other new enhancements, PhoeniX 2.0 includes additional features for document scanning and importing of multimedia files in formats such as JPEG, BMP, and AVI. It also can import locally stored DICOM files. In addition, users can directly write a DICOM CD/DVD with an embedded viewer, according to the company.
