Kodak Health Imaging sales climb in Q4

Eastman Kodak Health Imaging reported fourth-quarter net sales of $619 million, up 9% from the $570 million posted in the fourth quarter a year ago.

For the period (end-December 31), the Rochester, NY-based division had earnings from operations of $117 million, compared with operating earnings of $66 million (including goodwill amortization of $8 million) in the same quarter last year. The Health Imaging unit had fourth-quarter net income of $92 million, compared with net income of $45 million in the 2001 fourth quarter.

The division had net sales of $2.274 billion for year, up 1% from the $2.262 billion posted in 2001. Health Imaging's earnings from operations were $431 million, compared to $323 million in 2001. The division reported 2002 net income of $313 million, compared with $221 million in 2001.
