GE Healthcare plans to build a new production facility in Brazil, its first in South America, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based company.
The facility is scheduled to open in 2009 and is part of a GE initiative to highlight local production of products designed for particular markets. The exact location of the facility has not yet been chosen, according to GE.
