ACR names 2025 Thorwarth Award recipient

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has named Cynthia Moran as its 2025 William T. Thorwarth Jr., MD, Award recipient at its annual meeting in Washington, DC.

Moran has overseen ACR’s government relations and economic health policy initiatives for more than 20 years, the ACR said.

The Thorwarth Award was established in 2004 by the ACR Commission on Economics to honor members or staff who show excellence in the field of economics and health policy by way of leadership, diplomacy, and integrity. It is not an annual award, the ACR noted, but is instead given on a merit basis to recognize individuals for their outstanding contributions.

Additionally, the ACR named Timothy L. Swan, MD, as president; Johnson B. Lightfoote, MD, as vice president; Kurt A. Schoppe, MD, as council speaker; and Eric M. Rubin, MD, as council vice speaker.
