Biodex Medical Systems has redesigned its entire line of surgical C-arm tables to include a cantilevered low-attenuation carbon-fiber tabletop with an extra-large radiolucent area, free of cross members, allowing full fluoroscopic visualization and unobstructed C-arm positioning. The new design accommodates portable or ceiling-suspended C-arms, providing complete imaging access with reduced radiation exposure to clinicians, according to the Shirley, NY-based firm.
Hand and foot controls permit the actuation of all motorized positions, and a push-button release for a free-float feature is located at the end of the hand grip, which can be placed at any point along the OR accessory rail. In addition to accommodating vascular, angiography, and cardiac procedures, the firm also offers tables equipped for pain care, urology, and brachytherapy, Biodex said.
