Mitsubishi launches medical inkjet paper

Japanese imaging firm Mitsubishi Imaging has launched a new line of inkjet paper designed specifically for medical imaging applications. The company’s Diamond Jet line is designed to provide low-cost images to referring physicians for patient reports, as well as to patients as handouts.

The Diamond Jet paper uses a specially formulated coating that enables the ink to dry instantly, eliminating smudging problems, according to Mitsubishi. The paper is also water-resistant, and comes in three grades, from premium to economy. The company believes the paper can replace more expensive laser film printers in remote areas when nondiagnostic images are required.
