The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) will be holding its annual meeting July 18-21 in Washington, DC. AuntMinnie.com caught up with its president, cardiologist Edward Nicol, MD, of Royal Brompton and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, both in London, U.K., to get a preview.
Nicol gave an overview of the state of cardiac CT and highlighted topics that will be discussed at SCCT 2024, including the modality's role in improving global health, its interaction with AI, and how photon-counting detector CT (PCCT) shows promise for improving the modality's cardiac imaging performance, to name a few.
