The Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) and the Radiology Patient Action Network (RPAN) say the radiology field has reached a crossroads from the ripple effects of Medicare cuts, workforce shortages, and other hurdles.
Radiology practices are facing unsustainable pressure, and there's an urgent need for legislative solutions to bolster radiology workforce capacity and for permanent adoption of virtual direct supervision in radiology procedures, the RBMA said.
In launching its collaborative 2025 Advocacy Agenda on February 6, RBMA highlighted that its work ahead will address the following:
- Reforming Medicare reimbursement
- Addressing workforce shortages
- Educating policymakers
- Securing permanent virtual supervision
- Refining the No Surprises Act
