The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is proposing a 2.4% update over 2025 for the 2026 Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), according to the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The IPPS proposed rule provides updates for Medicare fee-for-service payment rates and policies for inpatient hospitals and long-term care hospitals, the ACR said. The 2.4% increase reflects a "hospital market basket increase" of 3.2% as well as a productivity cut of 0.8%, it noted.
