RSNA plans to cut the number of halls it uses for its technical exhibition from three to two for the 2013 edition of the meeting, scheduled for Chicago's McCormick Place from December 1 to 6.
For many years the RSNA technical exhibits were housed in two halls at McCormick Place, most recently the South and North buildings. But in 2008 the meeting moved some exhibitors to Lakeside Center, requiring RSNA attendees to cross a pedestrian bridge over Lake Shore Drive for appointments with vendors, as well as to view poster exhibits.
McCormick Place plans to convert Lakeside Center into a data center, however, which is forcing RSNA to revise its plans, according to Linda Brooks, senior manager of media relations for the society.
For RSNA 2013, the technical exhibition will occupy the South and North buildings, which together can accommodate up to 535,000 sq ft of exhibition space. Total exhibit space at RSNA 2012 was 444,900.
Additional information about the change will be forthcoming in RSNA's exhibitor newsletter, Brooks said.
