Katherine Zukotynski, MD, PhD, of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, has been awarded the American College of Nuclear Medicine’s (ACNM) 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award is presented in recognition of individuals who have demonstrated an "outstanding level of dedication to the field of nuclear medicine in terms of leadership and scholarly activity," the university said, in a news release.
Zukotynski is a professor in the departments of medical imaging and medicine, as well as an associate member of McMaster’s School of Biomedical Engineering. She is currently associate co-chair of research in medical imaging, vice-chair on the Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation Board of Directors, and vice-chair of finance for the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).
Her main areas of research are in PET/CT applications in oncology, neurodegenerative disease, and machine learning, McMaster said.
