Olympus requests review of Given Imaging patents

Video-capsule manufacturer Given Imaging reported that optics developer Olympus of Tokyo has submitted a request to the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office to re-examine certain claims of one of the five U.S. patents Given holds.

Because the request does not propose that Yoqneam, Israel-based Given has infringed a third-party patent, the outcome of this process cannot limit company’s ongoing business, Given Imaging said.
