ITM Isotope Technologies Munich and its oncology therapeutics division Lumara Bio, are directing attention to two posters on their ITM-11 investigational radiopharmaceutical (Lu-177-edotreotide) at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting next week in Boston.
The first poster, presented by Dr. Amir Iravani of the University of California, Los Angeles, will report absorbed-dose results from the Phase 3 COMPETE trial in patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs). The second, presented by Dr. Julia G. Fricke of University Hospital Basel, will share findings from the SwissNet Registry on re-treatment with Lu-177-edotreotide in patients with progressive neuroendocrine tumors. Both posters will be shown on September 27, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM ET.
COMPETE compared Lu-177-edotreotide with everolimus in patients with inoperable, progressive grade 1 or 2 GEP-NETs and met its primary endpoint, showing a significant improvement in progression-free survival, according to ITM. The agent is also being studied in the Phase 3 COMPOSE trial in patients with more aggressive grade 2 or 3 disease. It has not been approved by any regulatory authority.
