GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., reported that the Harvard Center for Neurodegeneration and Repair (HCNR) will use its IN Cell Analyzer imaging system to research the human central nervous system and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
GE's IN Cell Analyzer is used by researchers in pharmaceutical and academic labs to analyze a various cellular processes in disease definition and drug development. HCNR was established to develop therapies for neurodegenerative diseases through collaborative translational research.
The new imaging system will help scientists decipher the molecular and pathological mechanisms of Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Huntington's disease, ALS (or Lou Gehrig's disease), and multiple sclerosis.
