The Academy of Radiology Research (ARR) has announced the 2016 recipients of its Distinguished Investigator Award.
In all, 38 researchers were selected to receive the award for this year, the academy noted. The honor recognizes imaging researchers for their accomplishments in the field of medical imaging.
Selections are made based on "significant research contributions" of the researchers, who are required to have demonstrated sustained productivity with at least 25 peer-reviewed publications in which they are first or senior author. They also must have had at least six cumulative years of funding as a principal investigator on a major competitive extramural research grant, according to the academy.
