The new Chinese Journal of Academic Radiology is scheduled to launch at the 2018 Chinese Congress of Radiology (CCR) in Beijing.
The journal will serve as a forum for international researchers investigating imaging techniques in radiology such as image-fused nuclear medicine and ultrasound, according to Executive Editor James Hu, PhD. All articles published in the journal will be free to download during its first two years, 2018 and 2019. In addition, article authors will be able track the number of times their publication is downloaded, cited, or shared on social media.
The journal has appointed Dr. Zheng-Yu Jin to be the editor in chief. Jin is director of the medical imaging department at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and chairman of the Chinese Society of Radiology. He has received honorary memberships from both the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and RSNA.
