Biotechnology company RadioMedix has inked a five-year supply deal for thorium-228 (Th-288) with Netherlands-based Van Overeem Nuclear.
Th-228 is an upstream isotope of lead-212 (Pb-212), which RadioMedix is producing using its proprietary benchtop Pb-212 RAHA-100 generator platform to support its therapeutic pipeline. RadioMedix is producing Pb-212 for the development of targeted alpha therapy radiopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment.
To support its operations, the company noted it recently opened the SPICA Center, a self-sufficient, state-of-the-art 27,000 sq ft facility in Houston that offers full-service support for academic and industry partners.
