Marconi produces 16-slice CT images

Marconi Medical Systems said it has produced 16-slice images from its Infinite Detector technology, which was designed for use with Marconi's Mx8000 multislice CT scanner. The scanner will allow its customers to perform noninvasive imaging, fast whole-body trauma evaluation, high-detail, low-dose screening exams, and whole-organ functional scanning. The Mx8000 CT scanner with Infinite Detector technology is more than 12 times faster than the current Mx8000 quad multislice CT scanner, said the Cleveland-based Marconi.
