Toshiba America Medical Systems has been awarded a contract to supply its multislice Aquilion CT scanners to Veterans Affairs facilities and other U.S. government agencies worldwide. The one-year deal may be extended up to a total of five years, according to the Tustin, CA-based vendor.
Toshiba said that five VA medical centers recently selected Aquilion prior to this contract, with systems already installed in Long Beach, CA, Nashville, and San Diego. The firm is currently installing systems in Los Angeles, St. Louis, and the 375th Medical Group at Yokota Air Force Base in Japan.
The agreement enables VA facilities and U.S. government hospitals to purchase CT scanner systems from Toshiba through the Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center (VANAC). The new contract joins Toshiba's other contract from VANAC for the supply of diagnostic x-ray and vascular systems.
