Toshiba America Medical Systems has released version 3.0 of its Aquilion 64 and 32 CT scanner software.
The new release features options to enhance the reconstruction kit up to 28 slices per second and includes DICOM data transfer at up to 50 images per second, according to the Tustin, CA-based vendor.
Other features include PhaseExact, automated optimal phase selection software for cardiac CT procedures. Advanced QDS, another feature, improves low-contrast resolution in combination with specific scan parameters, Toshiba said.
A DICOM viewer automatically transfers data to a CD along with the images. Toshiba has also incorporated presentation of grouped procedures (PGP) with Hard Split, which identifies and separates multiple exam orders.
Production Aquilion 64 and 32 scanners in August will feature the upgrade; the software will be available as a field upgrade to existing scanners in the fall, Toshiba said.
