Infinitt of Phillipsburg, NJ, will be unveiling a work-in-progress software application, the Infinitt Lung Solution, at the 2006 RSNA conference later this month.
The application supports lung nodule detection as a preliminary reader opinion by providing detection algorithms not only for solid nodules but also for ground-glass opacity (GGO) nodules on multidetector CT images. Sensitivity is greater than 80% for detecting solid nodules larger than 3 mm in diameter, and GGOs larger than 6 mm, with a false-positive rate of less than four per case, according to the company.
The product is targeted toward the emerging lung computer-aided detection (CAD) market, and has a selection of tools for detecting various lung nodules. It also provides structured reporting of its results.
