Toshiba America Medical Systems said that its CT platform has received approval to operate (ATO) status from the U.S. Air Force.
This makes Toshiba the only manufacturer to have a fully certified CT system for use on the Air Force Network, according to the vendor.
To achieve the status, Toshiba met the U.S. Department of Defense's guidelines for ensuring protection of protected health information (PHI) and guarding against malware, viruses, and malicious attacks. The company said it enhanced its CT platform to include Microsoft Windows 7 and application white-listing software to proactively identify and prevent viruses and malicious solicitations.
