Molecular imaging developer MILabs will install its U-CTUHR microCT system at the Cystic Fibrosis Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
The adaptive x-ray CT system is will help advance research programs centered on novel animal models of cystic fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) developed at UAB, according to the company.
The system is designed to meet a broad range of in vivo imaging research needs in animals, ranging from very fast, high-resolution, low-dose bone, tissue, and lung imaging to dual-gated cardiac and pulmonary analysis. UAB will use the new MILabs U-CTUHR system mainly for evaluating cystic fibrosis airways disease, COPD, and pulmonary fibrosis, as well as sinonasal studies, according to the vendor.
