Siemens Healthineers is highlighting the first U.S. installation of its Somatom X.ceed single-source CT scanner, with the milestone system being installed at a Florida medical center.
Lee Health's Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers is the first facility to install the system, the company said. Somatom X.ceed handles all diagnostic procedures, including cardiac and trauma imaging.
The scanner has an 82-cm bore, a rotation speed of 0.25 seconds, a scan speed of 262 mm per second, and power of 1,300 mA. Its myNeedle Companion feature helps plan and guide percutaneous needle procedures, and an optional software package called myNeedle Guide 3D supports interventional procedures, the company said.
Somatom X.ceed received U.S. Food and Drug Administration last year.
